About

Some history#

• Age 9My parents put a computer in my bedroom in 1998. It was a new Acer PC with Windows 95. My favorite games were Minesweeper, SkiFree, MechWarrior 2, and Warcraft II.
• Age 10I discovered VBScript when my father made some programs for my learning in Microsoft Excel.
• Age 11I created my first game in Excel, it was Monopoly.
• Age 12I disassembeled a laptop belonging to my father’s colleague. I had a tough time putting it back together! My parents sent me to a boarding school at this point.
• Age 13I joined the Computer Club in my school, there I learnt that I already knew how to write code in Visual Basic 6. My teacher however, pushed me towards Macromedia Flash which I used to create several games.
• At a book fair, my mother bought me a book on ASP. This introduced me to web development.
• Age 14I founded Dinit Softwares, with my good friend, Nitin Gupta. Learnt how to assemble PCs.
• For the logo, my school mate gave me the idea of a eagle on a shield and we drew it in Paint.
• Later, I built my first website with Microsoft FrontPage, I didn’t know much HTML so copied the theme from Microsoft. If you really want to see it click here.
• I bought a few CD writers and started burning disks for friends.
• I played a lot of video games. My favorites included Counter-Strike 1.6 and Age of Empires II.
• Age 16I moved to Indonesia with my parents. I revamped my website and started creating tools in ASP3 and Visual Basic 6.
• One day while my school friends were staying over at my home, I got a call from UK asking about how to buy my scripts. The next day, I setup a PayPal account and made my first online sale.
• I made some tools for my school including a library management tool and a report card generator.
• Age 17I started collaborating with people on online forums to create software.
• Age 18I joined NITK for my undergrad after I shut down Dinit Softwares to focus on studies.

Travel / Geography#

• I am originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan. I have since lived in Kathmandu, Lucknow, Purwakarta, Ajmer, Jakarta, Bangalore, and Jaipur.
• I’ve been to approximately 10 countries, many of which I would like to revisit.
• I spent over 8 years in Indonesia, it’s my second home. I’m also fuent in Bahasa Indonesia.
